The Dorset Bee Inspires Us All
Helen Bolter Griffin and Gareth Flux from The Dorset Bee inspired everyone at TLG’s recent talk. Describing many aspects of their love of bees, they explained natural bee keeping, showed us homes for solitary bees, illustrated how to create safe havens for wild bees, listed suggestions for plants providing sources of food for bees year round and also how communing with bees, observing their habits and listening to the buzzing can help offer relaxation and reduced anxiety in humans.
The Dorset Bee offers a wide range of activities - including 3 hour beekeeping experiences, day workshops, 2 day courses and a 5 night residential.
We were especially inspired by Bee Friendly Bridport . With Dorset Bee’s help, Bridport has become a bee-friendly dedicated community group which has set up a trail of 12 bee hotels. Could this happen in Lyme Regis? If anyone wants to help get the project off the ground, please contact us.
