Uplyme Church Bee Hotel
Jan Impey and Stephen Gray with the new bee hotel, provided by Bee Friendly Lyme Regis.
Next spring into summer, it will be possible to open the hotel and peek inside to see if any solitary bees have chosen one of the channels as a nest to lay eggs. She will lay eggs, put in a stopper of pollen and nectar for food. Then lay more eggs, and another stopper of food. Repeating this until she puts the final stopper in at the entrance. When the larvae emerge, they will have food on their way out the following year.
