A talk by SAMANTHA KNIGHTS KC hosted by THE FRIENDS OF ST ANDREW’S COLYTON
Do mountains, forests, fungi and rivers have rights? And if so what are these rights, how are they exercised, why have they been ignored by most legal systems to date, and how should they be balanced with human actions?
This illustrated talk will explore the origins of the concept of nature rights and the growing movement to recognise them in law, the connection to religions, and the various routes through which nature is protected already in environmental and other laws.
Entrance is FREE. Donations Welcomed.
