Thanks to all who braved the weather and dropped by at the TLG stall at the Uplyme fete on Saturday. It was great to show off our new bee project - lots of interest in what we can all do to improve habitat for bees in our gardens.

Conifer Walk - this Thursday June 11

Still spaces left on our walk in Shute Woods: Another Look at Conifers, led by Graham Jones. These trees are rated as some of the best specimens in the South West. Conifers are often overlooked by conservationists but they provide a valuable carbon store and a much underrated source of renewable building materials. Meet at 6pm. Duration of walk: 1 - 1/2 hours. Seaton Wetlands Talk and Walk

One of my wildlife highlights last year was seeing the sand martins at Seaton Wetlands. Come and hear about future plans for the reserve at this talk:

Litter Pick: Sunday July 12

Our next litter pick is Sunday July 12, starting at 10am till noon. Meet at the RNLI shop. Bring your own bucket or bag if possible. Litter pickers and gloves provided. Free hot drink or icecream from Baboo afterwards. We continue to be grateful to Baboo for supporting these litterpicks and rewarding all those who take part. Please bring your keep cup. Saturday August 1, 2-5pm Uplyme and Lyme Regis Horticultural Society Summer Flower and Produce Show. Come and visit the Turn Lyme Green gazebo. The theme of the show this year is ‘Celebrating Pollinators’. Perfect for our new Bee Friendly Lyme Regis project.

If you missed this in Uplyme come along to the Pine Hall at the Baptist Church for a screening of this important film, followed by discussion.

LYME IN BLOOM 2026 - deadline for entries June 12.
Calling all green fingered gardeners! Come forward and enter the competition. And don’t forget to choose bee friendly plants, shrubs and trees. There are categories for both residents and businesses, all sizes and types of displays, and a special category for children. Details from the Town Council website. Judging in July.
