A MESSAGE FROM OUR TREASURER

We welcome anyone to Turn Lyme Green and its family of amazing active subgroups. There is no charge for any of our events, meetings or activities. However, if you would like to become a £5 subscriber, then that would be even more brilliant. It helps us to have paid up subscribers when we apply for grants from the Council or other grant awarding bodies. Our constitution details that we must have at least 10 paid up subscribers at our AGM.

If you would like to pay a subscription of £5, then please could you set up a bank transfer or even better set up a standing order to pay annually to our bank account. If you put your name as reference, I’ll confirm payment with a receipt, and put you on our list of lovely subscribers!

UPLYME CLIMATE COMMUNITY and UPLYME CHURCH are excited to show the film, ‘WILDING’. Based on Isabella Tree’s best selling book, ‘WILDING’ tells the incredible story of a young couple that bets on nature for the future of their failing four hundred year old estate. They set to work with their groundbreaking vision, battling entrenched tradition and major forces along the way, daring to place the fate of their farm in the hands of nature. Ripping down the fences they set the land back to the wild and entrust its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild. It is the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe and beyond. FREE entry. Just turn up.

TALK & DEMONSTRATION ‘The Answer Lies in the Soil’

Uplyme and Lyme Regis Horticultural Society are hosting a talk by David Usher who will give a practical demonstration exploring what soil is, and how to look after it to get the best results. Handout with useful soil-related information provided.

The Lyme Litterpickers remain hard at work tackling rubbish and clearing up plastic pollution. Meet at the RNLI shop at the Cobb. Bring a bucket if you can. Gloves and litter pickers provided. Mince pies will also be provided!
